J’ai vu hier le DVD du film 9 SONGS, assez étrange qui méritait donc que je vous en parle.
Je voulais le voir à sa sortie en salle en mars dernier mais le peu de cinéma le passant et surtout sa classification à tort de “film pornographique” m’avaient un peu refroidis… Un film (du réalisateur Michael Winterbottom) atypique, entre une documentaire réaliste et une nouvelle de Houellebecq alternant scènes charnelles et concerts de rock.
Rappelons que 9 SONGS est interdit aux -18 ans.
Ce n’est pas le genre de film qu’on peut facilement raconter mais je vais essayer de vous dresser un portrait fidèle.
Le film narre l’histoire de Matt, jeune chercheur anglais et Lisa, étudiante américaine de passage à Londres.
Nos deux protagonistes se rencontrent lors d’un concert de Black Rebel Motorcycle Club à la Brixton Academy et ce coup de foudre les entraine dans une relation intense et passionnée.
Filmé sans aucune pudeur, le film est composé à moitié de scènes érotiques alternant entre le romantique et le torride. Il est vrai que certains plans justifient bien l’interdiction aux mineurs. Sauf qu’ici, à l’inverse des films appartenant à la classification que les cinémas lui avaient donné, on peut réellement parler de jeu d’acteur. Excellent d’ailleurs, d’un réalisme sans faux-semblant et caricatures récurrentes qu’on pourrait voir ailleurs. Lisa et Matt s’aiment et nous le font savoir sans caméra détournée. Accepter de se dénuder devant la caméra pour ce jeune couple improvisé n’a pas du être facile mais semble pourtant si naturel… surprenant!
L’autre moitié est consacrée à des concerts électriques de rock filmés en plein coeur de la foule londonienne. Franz Ferdinand, Von Bondies, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dandy Warhols, Elbow, Primal Scream et les Super Furry Animals montent ainsi sur scène pour d’énergiques lives.
On notera la présence anecdotique d’un passage de Madan (Salif Keita remixé par Martin Solveig) mais surtout les superbes instrumentations de Michael Nyman (à qui l’on doit notamment la bande son du film La Leçon de Piano), je vous conseille d’écouter la musique de la bande annonce, magnifique.
N’étant pas fin mélomane de la scène rock anglaise, je ne pourrais vous en dire plus sur le sujet, malheureusement…
Le film est ponctué de scènes sur l’Antarctique. Quel rapport entre le reste de l’histoire et cette immense surface de glace me demanderez-vous…
Matt compare en fait le lit “où l’on peut être à la fois claustrophobe et agoraphobe” avec la banquise et sa solitude polaire étrange.
Filmé entièrement en caméra DV, les couleurs et le grain donnent un charme non dissimulé à ce film étonnant, parfois ennuyeux, parfois impressionnant, parcourant les méandres de l’intimité d’un couple qui nous ressemble un peu..

Elle est ou ta critique sur ce film ?? Je l’avais vu à sa sortie et la BO est terrible. Le second point positif est la lumière du Film. Elle est splendide. Malheureusement, apres avoir payé la musique et la lumière, il ne restait plus de sous pour le scénariste. A louer pour se rendre compte mais ne pas acheter

Je crois qu’il faudra me trainer pour que j’aille voir ce film, il a l’air intéressant mais cmt dire j’aime pas trop les ambiances bizarres comme à §a, oà ¹ tout se presse d’un coup ou au contraire oà ¹ tout est d’une lenteur indescriptible :o , enfin peut être que je me trompe, je sais pas, peut être qu’il est génial, mais pour linstant il ne me dit pas trop, après on peut dire, “ah les prejugés, les préjugés…” Bref, cet article est assez sympathique comparé aux autres parce que, pour une fois, on ne parle pas de technologie! bon bah voila, je te fais denormes bisouilles
